WiFi Not Allowed?
We love our new house. We’re finally settling in and it’s been going fairly smoothly. Until this morning… See, I set up a wireless computer network for our house, as always, but apparently, THAT ISN’T ALLOWED in our neighborhood. We got a knock on our door and a subsequent door bell ring (thanks for waking Sophia, guys) at about 8 AM. It was the neighborhood association. Well, two of them, anyway. They told me that the association had agreed that wireless networks were too insecure and a possible health risk. So, they are banned. This is just ridiculous. But I guess it explains why I didn’t see any other wireless networks when I set mine up. Ah well. I prefer a wired network anyway. Sorry Amanda. :[

That is the stupidest thing I’ve heard in a long time. Is your association full of old people?
Be sure to let them know that wireless network detectors cause testicular cancer.

OH my gosh, you TOTALLY GOT ME. I was just going to post a spoof positive pregnancy test, but judging from last years reaction to baby themed pranks, i decided not to. Way to keep the tradition alive.
Jerk.

Good one! I was totally believing it since I’m reading this a week late and didn’t realize when it was originally posted.

This had one of Amanda’s friends about to start a phone-in petition of the “association.” Apparently, that person didn’t read the comments. Awesome.
I can’t be too proud of this one, though. It’s too believable to be a good April Fools joke. Ah well… I didn’t plan ahead like I did last year.

Sorry about not being wi fi. Good thing the Heavy Metal Rock Band in the garage doesn’t use wireless and goes undetected by the neighbors!

you’ve got to be kidding me, no wifi! what’s next cell phones? or they haven’t figured out that their cell phone signels can be tapped also. it appears that some people on your street are afraid of advances in technilogy; i have scanned that street myself and i know that i have hit at least 5 wifi hits. and believe it or not they are using wep - bad idea.
now on to the health risk- (i really don’t know what to say). unless your broadcasting your wifi signal at the same strenght that NASA would use to communicate with the rover on Mars-then you might have issues living in the same house yourself. i really want to throw the BS flag on that one.
