According to the APC battery backup service, the power to this web server went out several times a few days ago. It happens. Especially way out in Pungo. All it takes, apparently, is a few days of rain and a little wind. Ah well… At least my brother works out there and can hit the power switch to turn us back on when it happens. (Thanks, bro) The joys of running your own server. 6 days since our last blackout!
WTF? I happened to glance at my site stats today and noticed 44 hits from this ad(?) which, from the .pl domain name, appears to be a Polish website. It looks like some sort of Ebay clone. Is someone there pulling a scam, trying to sell my LEGO logo? The Polish to English translator I put the site through, didn’t work so well, but whatever, if it sells, I want my 200,00 zł.
After reading Luke’s last post, I got to thinking about my first home page. I wish I could say it was over 10 years ago, but it wasn’t. Apparently, it was only 8. I’ve never been a great web designer and probably never will be. It’s just not my thing. (see nullgel.com) But I have done my dad’s company’s site and also the site of the company I work for now. And I keep telling myself that they turned out all right. Anyway, to put it all in perspective, take a look at my first web page. It’s okay to laugh. I sure did. I especially like the “Netscape Now!” button. Wow… I did fix a link or two for this post, but many of the links are still bad since they link to pages that I made in Shockwave (scary) that are no longer supported in the latest plugin. This site predates the “nullgel” moniker and was hosted by Erols. W00t!!1 Erols pwned dial-up! Blazing 56k! Ugh… Most. Embarrassing. Post. Ever.
