Lunch Break
Thursday, May 11th, 2006I’m going to try to convince the guys that creating panoramas is a necessary feature for our bot. This will definately be a feature of Sneakers… someday. Anyway, I decided to take a few minutes to at least write a function to move the camera and save images at varying degrees of pan an tilt so I could create a test panorama like I did for Sneakers a long while back. If it goes well, maybe we’ll purchase the full version of the stitching software and get rid of those annoying watermarks. The nice thing about this particular vendor’s software is that it can be called via shell commands from any other program (such as ours:) to completely automate the process.
Update: Just “re-discovered” this amazing software. The results are fantastic. I must figure out how to programmatically control it…
Update2: Fun with panoramas…
Update3: Can’t … stop … making … pano … ramas … (outdoors)
